I would call them locally. If you have a tracking number that would be even better as they would probably need that.

I don’t believe that you can pick your package up at the UPS store, as it’s basically a shipping outlet. Your package could be picked up at your local UPS terminal. Call 1-800-PICK-UPS (1-800-742-5877), give them your tracking number and request that they hold the package there for pickup. Most UPS terminals are open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The toll free number can confirm this.
If you just live in a house and not an apartment or a high risk delivery area, your UPS driver will leave the package at your home anyways. The exception being if the shipping company specifies that the driver get a signature or a high value item that requires one as well.
