I have several good business ideas that I will need investors for how do I protect my idea from theft?

I have many good business concepts and ideas that I will need to have financially backed…I don’t want to put my ideas out there trying to get financial backing and have the possible investor just take my idea and run with it themselves..how do I protect myself from this happening..any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Take care!

    1) Pick your investors carefully
    2) Patents; filing patents on manuafturing or business processes is generally effective albiet expensive.
    3) Non-disclosure/non-compete agreement; have the potential investor sign an agreement stating that they will not steal your intelectual property. I’m not an attorney, but it would look something like:

“The Discloser above wishes to disclose confidential information to the Recipient that is proprietary…The Recipient hereby agrees not to directly or indirectly compete with the proposed business of the Discloser…The Recipient recognize and acknowledge that the Information may have competitive value”

If you have some good Ideas we will sit with you and discuss you needs, if it is something that we believe in. We like to make sure we are selling something that gives more back in use value than we charge for the item or servive.

You made a number of nice points there. I did a search on the issue and found a good number of folks will consent with your blog.
